How to make a quick & simple 5-minute spring centerpiece
I usually begin a tablescape plan by designing the centerpiece. This farmhouse-style flower box arrangement is fast, approachable, and customizable. It takes about five to ten minutes once you have the supplies on hand.
Here are the supplies you’ll need:

The supplies for this centerpiece are simple and often already in a decor stash.
- Galvanized metal flower box or a similar container
- Two bunches of wispy faux greenery
- Two small potted faux plants (or faux topiary pots)
- One bunch of faux yellow forsythia or long yellow stems
- A small bunch of yellow accent flowers
- A small bunch of lime-green accent flowers
- Two shallow bowls or small books to raise elements for height
How to assemble the spring centerpiece

Don’t overthink floral placement—this arrangement is meant to feel loose and natural.
- Place the two larger bunches of faux greenery at each end of the flower box to create balance and frame the arrangement.
- Turn the two shallow bowls upside down and set them inside the box to elevate the potted faux plants slightly—this adds dimension and keeps the centerpiece from feeling flat.
- Set the two faux potted plants on top of the bowls so they sit higher than the ends.
- Trim the faux floral stems so each bloom sits on its own wire or stem. Tuck yellow and lime-green accent flowers into the greenery, spacing them evenly. Work from one side to the other—if you add a stem on the left, add one on the right to keep the look balanced.
- Adjust stems until the arrangement feels full but still airy. The goal is a relaxed, farmhouse look—not a tightly packed bouquet.

Customize this easy flower box centerpiece with any colors or textures you prefer.
Setting a spring tablescape – layer, layer, layer
Since yellow inspired this design, I started with a yellow-striped farmhouse tablecloth as the base. To add contrast and depth, I layered darker gray linens and textured napkins underneath each place setting. Mixing patterns—stripes, checks, and woven textures—creates a casual, collected look that still reads as intentional.

Layer linens and textures for a relaxed farmhouse tablescape.
Layering is the easiest way to add interest: a tablecloth, a runner or narrow accent, a textured charger, stacked plates, a napkin, and a small personal item on top. Contrast bright yellow with a cool blue napkin or a navy accent to make both colors pop.
Make the place settings special
Thoughtful place settings make guests feel welcomed. For a simple personal touch, tuck a handwritten place card into a tiny pot of faux grass or a small nest of moss at each setting. Mini potted plants, eggs in blue shades, or small flowers double as favors and add charm to each plate.

A handwritten place card tucked into a mini pot adds a personal touch.
If you like, print simple place cards or write names by hand on heavy cardstock. Place the card inside the faux grass pot or rest it on top of the napkin for a tidy, personal detail that guests will notice.

Printable place cards with soft yellow florals are an easy finishing touch.
Add extra pops of spring decor and greenery

Scatter a few small spring accents and extra stems around the centerpiece for a playful vibe.
Scatter a few additional faux stems, small decorative objects, or faux moss rocks around the centerpiece. Look through your decor closet—sometimes the most unexpected treasures make the setting feel unique. A small ceramic bird, a pastel egg, or a thrifted blue napkin can tie the whole look together.
