Join the Style Challenge: Practical Outfit Guidance and Confidence for Every Wardrobe
Happy Saturday! I’m out today participating in a local craft fair, but I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news about a fashion resource I’ve been enjoying. Some time ago I wrote about taking part in a Style Me Pretty Challenge led by Alison at Get Your Pretty On. That experience made such a difference for me that I wanted to pass along the details and why I think it’s a great fit for anyone who wants to look stylish without a lot of stress.
In short, the challenge is structured to make wardrobe planning simple, teachable and fun. Here’s how it typically works:
- When you sign up, you receive a shopping list that outlines the pieces used to assemble the challenge’s outfits. You can choose to buy items from the list or, as I did, pull comparable pieces from your existing wardrobe. That makes the program flexible and budget-friendly.
- On the scheduled start date you’ll receive an email revealing the “outfit of the day.” Each day’s look includes guidance on how to combine a small selection of core items into multiple attractive outfits. The goal is to demonstrate how a few well-chosen pieces can create a wide range of stylish ensembles.
Alison’s Winter challenge is especially generous: rather than the usual 21 looks, this session includes 26 outfits, and each daily look includes suggestions for both dressing up and dressing down. That versatility makes the plan useful across many occasions—work, casual weekends, and special events—so you’ll get styling ideas that feel practical as well as fashionable.
I’ve taken more than one of these challenges, and each time I learned helpful strategies for shopping smarter and dressing with more confidence. This is particularly meaningful for those of us navigating wardrobe choices later in life: even if you’re an over-40 mom like me, you can still feel current and comfortable in your clothes. The challenge provided a straightforward framework that removed a lot of the guesswork I used to have when putting outfits together.
One of the most encouraging parts of the experience was the private Facebook group that runs alongside the challenge. It’s optional, but I found it invaluable. Members share daily outfit photos, tips, and encouragement. Seeing how other people adapted the same core pieces to their own bodies and lifestyles gave me fresh ideas and the courage to start sharing my own “Fashion Over 40” posts—a step I might not have taken without that supportive community.
If you’re wondering whether this is right for you, consider a few quick reasons it might be a perfect match:
- It’s beginner-friendly. You don’t need a huge wardrobe or to spend a lot of money to get valuable results.
- It’s practical. Daily outfit suggestions show how to remix a small number of items into multiple looks.
- It builds confidence. The structure and community support help you experiment without feeling judged.
- It’s adaptable. With both dressed-up and dressed-down options, you’ll find versions of each outfit that suit a variety of occasions.
Thinking of giving it as a gift? It makes a thoughtful present for someone who loves fashion or someone who could use a little wardrobe inspiration. I also think it’s a lovely way to treat yourself—consider it an investment in feeling more confident and put together every day. If you plan to sign up, look for early bird registration rates, which are sometimes available for a limited time.
Thanks for letting me share this update. If you’ve tried a similar style challenge or used a wardrobe-editing process that worked well for you, I’d love to hear about it next time. Have a lovely day, pretties!
