I can’t remember exactly when it began. It must have been shortly after the three boys learned to pour their own cereal and turn on the cartoons: the small, quietly glorious change that made weekends different.
Saturday morning breakfast in bed.

It felt indulgent and surprisingly simple at the same time. I didn’t prepare it. Instead, the tray arrived — juice, toast, something warm — carried by my award-winning, best-husband-in-the-world. He knows me well. He knows how much a quiet, thoughtful gesture means.

Over time breakfast in bed became a ritual, not because it was complicated or expensive, but because it made me feel cherished. If he could choose, he might take his breakfast at the table. But he prepares this tray just because he knows it will brighten my morning. That deliberate kindness — the thought behind it — is what makes the routine so meaningful.
Does breakfast in bed leave crumbs on the sheets? Absolutely. I don’t mind. Those little crumbs are proof of a good morning and a reminder that this small tradition returns on Saturday after Saturday.

When Kraft Philly Chocolate invited me to share their Breakfast in Bed campaign, I was eager to join. I’ve been a fan of morning treats and family rituals for years. At the same time, I’ve been trying to keep a balanced, healthier diet, so I was cautious about adding new sweet spreads to our pantry. The product claim caught my attention:
“With Chocolate Philly you get the dairy goodness of Philly plus the deliciousness of pure milk chocolate – with half the sugar and calories (per 1 tbsp. serving) of the other guys.”
That was promising. I decided to try the spread in a lighter way — not just on toast, but as a complement to fresh fruit. Sliced strawberries and bananas with a thin layer of chocolate-flavored cream cheese felt like a small, more nutritious indulgence. It satisfied the craving for something sweet while keeping portion and balance in mind.
On my small island, however, the spread hadn’t arrived on the grocery shelves yet. I was ready to taste it for myself and share a real impression; the photos had already made my mouth water. As soon as I spot it in the produce aisle, I’ll pick up a tub and try spreading it on berries, on whole-grain toast, or even folded into a breakfast yogurt for a chocolatey morning twist.

If you’re curious, Kraft Philly Chocolate has been promoting a Breakfast in Bed campaign that includes a downloadable coupon and an online “Likes” challenge. Keep an eye on Kraft Philly Chocolate’s Facebook page for updates and the coupon release — the promotion offered a notice that a coupon would be available on May 21st, and the Likes challenge may even reward someone with their own breakfast in bed experience. These kinds of brand campaigns often aim to celebrate small, heartfelt moments and to inspire people to make new rituals out of ordinary mornings.
Whether or not a new product becomes part of our routine, the idea that one small surprise can lift a weekend is worth keeping. Breakfast in bed is less about the food and more about the attention. It’s about slowing down long enough to feel seen. That’s something I hope our family continues — a few quiet Saturdays where someone brings a tray, we linger under soft blankets, and the house feels just a bit kinder.
