Tucked near the aged brick chimney by my office desk is my most cherished piece of furniture, a treasure brought from my childhood farmhouse in Montana all the way to Vancouver Island.
Grandma’s Buffet.

My mother shared that my grandparents acquired this buffet at an auction during their wedding year, but Grandma later decided against it in her new home and passed it to my parents.

Throughout my time at the farmhouse, it resided in the dining room, storing Mom’s elegant china, silverware, and even pens and pencils in the uppermost drawer.

The original mirror was gone, and there was a circular water mark on the upper right section; Mom always kept a chair next to it with the telephone positioned above, and we enjoyed sitting there to 'eavesdrop' on our party line.
When Mom gave it to us, she inquired if she should refinish it prior to our possession.
She mentioned, “It would appear significantly more lovely,”.
However, I convinced her that its current appearance was lovely too, because sometimes imperfections carry the most beautiful recollections…
P.S. The Spring decorating style for the buffet drew inspiration from this image on the wonderful Liz Marie Blog.

I was captivated by how she made mossy green items, branches, and stumps look so striking!!
