Harbour Breeze Launches in the UK: Locations & Opening Dates

Harbour Breeze Featured in Sew Home Magazine — Blog of the Month

A few months ago I received a delightful message from a friendly editor at a UK magazine. She asked if they could feature my blog as the “Blog of the Month” for December in Sew Home magazine. I didn’t hesitate for a second — I was thrilled and happily said yes.

The issue has just hit the newsstands in the UK, and I’m still buzzing with excitement about the feature. For those who can find the print edition in the UK, please take a look — it’s an honor to be included alongside so many creative sewing and home decor resources.

Because I’m based in Canada, I haven’t yet found a copy locally. The editor kindly sent me a digital image of the magazine page that features Harbour Breeze, and she gave me permission to share it here so readers who aren’t able to pick up the print issue can still see the spread. I’m so grateful for her generosity and the opportunity to introduce my blog to a wider audience.

I’m particularly charmed by one small edit they made — they changed my American “mom” to the British “mum.” It’s a lovely, small touch that made me smile and felt very fitting for a UK publication.

This feature means a great deal to me. Being selected as a blog of the month by Sew Home highlights the focus of Harbour Breeze: simple, approachable sewing and home decor ideas designed to inspire makers of all skill levels. I write to share projects, tips, and decorating ideas that help readers add personality and comfort to their homes through handmade touches. A magazine feature like this helps connect the blog with new readers who love sewing, crafting, and home styling.

To any Sew Home readers discovering Harbour Breeze for the first time — welcome. My blog covers a range of topics from quick sewing projects and seasonal decor updates to patterns and practical how-tos. I aim to present projects that are both beautiful and achievable, whether you’re a seasoned sewist or just starting out. If you enjoyed the magazine write-up, I hope you’ll explore the blog for more project guides, photos, and inspiration.

Thank you, Sew Home, for the lovely feature and for supporting small blogs and makers. I appreciate the spotlight and the thoughtful presentation of my work.

Someday I’d love to visit the UK and meet readers and fellow makers in person. Until then, I’m sending a big thank-you from across the ocean and looking forward to sharing more sewing and home decor projects that hopefully inspire readers both near and far. Smile

If you’re searching for the magazine locally and can’t find it, consider checking with local newsstands in the UK or digital editions where available. And if you’ve seen the feature, I’d love to hear what you thought — your feedback always helps guide future posts and projects on the blog.

Again, many thanks to the Sew Home team for this opportunity and to everyone who supports Harbour Breeze. Your encouragement makes sharing creative projects a joy.
