Need to avoid misplacing nails? This clever paper guide lets you design your entire gallery wall on the floor before transferring it perfectly to the wall; no measuring is necessary!
A few years ago, I spent three days at my sister Becky’s residence decorating and organizing, with our sister Susan also assisting.
We worked incredibly hard and enjoyed every moment; I sweated while she felt cold because our body temperatures differ slightly.
Regrettably, during the excitement, I neglected to capture any starting photos, which is a shame! However, I remembered partway through, so you get the middle and final looks, which I believe you will appreciate.
Above Becky’s sofa was a large, lovely bare wall ready for some decoration; a gallery wall seemed perfect. Bildirimlerim shows how we achieved this, along with the simple paper template trick that made it much simpler than expected!
1. Arrange the intended wall items on the floor until a pleasing composition is achieved.

2. Determine the precise final size of the grouping and cut paper to match; large print shop rolls or even taped newspapers will work well.
3. Place the items atop the paper, spacing them as desired, and use a level for accuracy; then, trace around every piece.

4. After tracing, turn the items over and locate the picture hanger points, marking small 'x's on the paper for nail/screw placement. {This is particularly useful when working on your sister’s gorgeous wall and needing to use anchor hardware!!}

5. Affix the paper, now functioning as your template, to the wall using scotch tape.

6. Insert nails, anchors, or screws at the marked spots; I used small nails for lighter pieces and anchors/screws for heavier ones. Thankfully, everything held. (Phew!) After securing all hardware, remove the paper and hang the pictures.

{I included some family photos so viewers see familiar imagery instead of strangers' pictures. Becky will complete the final touches…}
The beautiful shelf from the initial photograph is now located in the entryway, which connects to the living room.

{All materials for the gallery wall setup were bought at Hobby Lobby, Target, and Herbergers.}
**Note: I discovered that gridded wrapping paper simplifies this method even further! See it in my own above couch gallery wall!
