Bildirimlerim is returning with a 'What I Wore Wednesday' feature, recalling an ensemble worn during our recent Georgia journey.
For those following my blog for a while, you know I prefer traveling with only a carry on bag; this freedom from a large suitcase is something I truly value.
Before heading to Georgia, we checked local forecasts, finding temperatures nearly matched those on Vancouver Island, neither too chilly nor overly warm.
To pack for this cool-leaning weather, I packed jeans and layers, including sweaters and a rain jacket, carrying only boots: one tall pair and one pair of booties.
Everything was perfect regarding clothing until our exploration of Savannah.
Upon waking, we encountered a brilliant blue sky, sunshine, and intense heat!
Walking from the hotel to the car, I realized we needed a swift solution for our wardrobe dilemma.
Fortunately, my husband shared my predicament, so we began our day of sightseeing at the mall.
That location proved to be one of my absolute favorites.
We stopped at Old Navy and a nearby shoe retailer, feeling prepared for the day.
I snagged a wonderfully soft t-shirt from the clearance section for $5.00 and some new shorts; I opted for my reliable Clark flip-flops to prevent holiday blisters.
Leaving the mall, we were eager to explore this historically rich town we had heard so much about. (Details about our Savannah adventure are available here.)
While walking past lovely boutiques and enjoying coffee, I felt completely comfortable in my new, stylish attire.
Mid-afternoon, we rested on a bench, considering our next destination.
A sign earlier indicated Tybee Island; I had seen it mentioned in The Lettered Cottage blog and always hoped to visit {Layla created this lovely E-zine featuring cottage makeovers that I have revisited many times}.
A quick phone check revealed it was just 20 minutes from Savannah's lively center.

Ahhh…
The scene was serene and beautiful as the sun began to set, the temperature dropped rapidly, and few people were around.
There was also a noticeable wind.
Honestly, we were feeling quite cold, yet my husband bravely walked in to dip his toes in the Atlantic despite the goosebumps.
We took a quick photograph of one of the cottages Layla featured,
and drove back against a gorgeous sunset.
It concluded our day in Georgia wonderfully.
As I complete the final revisions for this piece, I notice I am still wearing the t-shirt acquired that very day; it represents a wonderful memory from a significant occasion and proved to be a worthwhile purchase.
