Three years ago on this day I published my initial entry with a nervous heart and unsteady hands.
Twenty three years ago today I married the man I still share breakfast with in my hometown church wearing a white dress and a unique white hat. {We enjoyed a wonderful Spring trip to Maui to celebrate!}
It is quite convenient that my Blogiversary and Anniversary fall on the same date.
Furthermore my birthday was yesterday.
Naturally my mind has limits for so many celebrations clustered together at this time…
On this special occasion I feel compelled to share some valuable insights gained from blogging.

Oh goodness.
I cannot think of anything immediately.
However yesterday I was reminded of a potential issue with this small blogging pursuit.
Perhaps a home decor blogger like you can relate to this query: “What is the issue?”

House tours.
It often begins with a message such as this:
“My Aunt Grezelda is arriving from Timbuktu tomorrow. She read your blog and wishes to tour the house.”
Oh dear.
To be clear I truly enjoy having coffee and meeting new friends.
Nevertheless I think I ought to place a notice on my entryway stating something like:
“ATTENTION: THE INTERIORS SHOWN IN THIS HOME MAY DIFFER FROM THE BLOG IMAGES”
Especially during the summer months!!
The reality is that during these very busy summer months I am rarely at home. And when I am I am usually resting for the next demanding period of my schedule. This season allows for dirty dishes on the counter, clean laundry piled on the dining room table, full garbage receptacles, and floors needing vacuuming.
If you entered my home right now you would observe all these conditions.
One of my greatest joys is bringing structure to disorder…

Yet just as we cannot maintain peak perfection constantly we must sometimes embrace messiness…
A heads up now - my house is currently in a state of disarray.
In truth the photographs on my blog and others are carefully arranged.

and subsequently refined

and captured using various illumination settings

Furthermore, a key principle is that they are never captured simultaneously.
This approach is intentional
extremely deliberate.
To be candid, I rarely have every area of my residence immaculate concurrently.
Regarding this specific space?

I doubt it has resembled this image since the moment it was taken!
I'm offering this small insight to help safeguard you should you plan a personal 'Home Tour'. I truly wish to spare you the letdown of actual life versus presentation.
Sometimes, things are untidy!!

Conversely, this situation provides a significant drive.
I have received a heads-up about a 'house tour' scheduled for later this week. I anticipate deploying the vacuum cleaner~
Maybe following a lengthy Sunday rest!!
