Simple Ginger Jar Vase Flower Arrangement

Create a cheerful spring centerpiece or home decorating accent with a blue and white ginger jar vase and faux flowers.

The weather fooled me a few weeks ago. The sun was shining so brightly under a crystal blue sky that I was absolutely certain spring had arrived…

Ginger jar vase with faux tulip arrangment on a table top

Around the same time, I saw a brilliant idea for arranging tulips. I decided right then and there to try my own Easter flower arrangement using a blue and white ginger jar and an assortment of faux tulips and flowers from my decor stash.

I noticed that the arrangements I was drawn to had two things in common:

  • A full-looking arrangement, and
  • tulips that looked like they were “spilling out” of the vase.

How to make a ginger jar flower arrangement with artificial flowers

If you don’t think you’re a flower arranger, don’t worry! Neither am I. But here’s what I did:

A ginger jar vase flower arrangment on a table that is set for Easter.
  1. Put the tallest faux flowers in the vase first. I bent the long stems a little so some of them looked like they were spilling over the sides.
  2. Next, layer in the tulips. If the stems are short (like mine were), place them in from side to side one at a time in a criss-cross pattern so the stems help hold each other up.
  3. Once the middle of the arrangement is full, add tulips around the sides and bend their stems down so they look like they’re spilling over.
  4. Add in extra filler flowers to fill any empty spots in the arrangement.
A table setting idea with a blue round ruffled placemat, blue and rose vintage china, blue checked cloth napkin, and a vintage egg candle sitting on the top of the top plate.

I was so excited about my new ginger jar vase arrangement as a table centerpiece that I decided to set the whole table as an example of an Easter tablescape, mixing Mom’s vintage china with cheerful spring linens.

Before I could photograph the table, though, we got a snowstorm… and then storm after storm of rain.

I guess spring wasn’t arriving as soon as I thought!

But all this time, while we waited for the sun to come back, I’ve had this table set and ready for spring! ;)

Today was finally a sunny day again, so I dug out my camera to share this idea with you.

Although everything on my table in the photos was bought earlier or gifted to me long ago, I put together an Amazon shop with similar items.

Disclosure: The following are Amazon shopping links provided for your convenience. I have not ordered any of the exact products listed below, but I looked for best sellers with good reviews that look similar to what I showed in the post.

  • Ginger Jar Vase – I love the striking colors of ginger jar vases. This one comes in different sizes so you can pick the one that fits the space.
  • Blue & White Dessert Plates – I thought these gorgeous plates would look amazing layered on simple white plates with a ginger jar centerpiece and yellow faux tulips!
  • I’ve realized that I’m a “collector” of table linens, so I’m always on the lookout for pieces that mix and match well. Blue striped and yellow checked cloth napkins look great on so many table settings.
  • These round placemats come in many colors. Lots of shoppers have bought them and left good reviews, and they look like a versatile table piece.
  • I couldn’t find a ruffled table runner, but this blue linen table runner looks very pretty.
