As the festive season approaches, many of us face the challenge of discovering distinctive, meaningful, and budget-friendly presents for individuals such as educators, and so forth… (or even gifts for children's birthday celebrations).
Several years back, I conceived the notion of a "Cinema Experience in a Pouch" present. All the essentials for a cozy film session "at home" are contained within the pouch ~ popcorn and steaming chocolate. It is secured with a tag that can likewise function as a gift card carrier {should you decide to present a gift card to a nearby film rental establishment}.
The pouch is compact (and tough!) enough for your children to toss into their backpacks as they head to class. This concept can also be modified to serve as a present for an entire household, too. Simply add the suitable quantity of "extras" to suit every family member.
Here is my method for creating them:
1. Begin with a segment of cloth measuring roughly 9 by 22 inches. {I prefer to tear my material and end up with slightly frayed edges.)
2. Fold the piece in half and stitch the edges using a half-inch seam. The unhemmed edges will be visible. That is ideal!
Fill it with a packet of popcorn and however many packets of hot chocolate you wish to add: {You might also include candy canes to serve as "stirring tools" for the chocolate. I haven't experimented with this, but supposedly, it is delicious!}
Create gift tags or gift card carriers. (I will demonstrate how I fashioned mine the following day.)
Fasten the opening with raffia, jute, or ribbon, and attach your tag/ gift card carrier.
And there you have it ~ "Cinema Experience in a Pouch"!
