September Reflection
Reviewing older blog entries today brought back memories of past Fall decorating thoughts.
In the present day, it is easy to fall into comparing ourselves and doubting our home's appeal.
You might feel your Fall home styling doesn't match popular Instagrammers or that your pumpkins lack contemporary flair.
However, remember to simply be yourself; your decor narrates your personal journey and is inherently lovely…

Fall Styling with Existing Possessions
Give your older furniture a chance, even if it seems dated…
Our residences reflect who we are, don't they?
Each space is distinct; none are identical, and every one holds a personal narrative.
This feeling came to mind when looking at my couch.

It is worn, past its prime, and needs a clean.
I recall the joy of acquiring it brand new from an auction in the 90s; it suited my blue and dusty rose living room perfectly.

Still, I adore it; its size is ideal for a relaxing afternoon rest, and I've decided to accept its blue-checked look instead of hiding it.
A bookcase can be styled using items you already own.

The items on the bookcase aren't new or fashionable either; many are favorites from past times, each holding a unique meaning for me, sometimes just appearing 'pretty'.
Piled old books, yard branches, a paper bunting garland, and kitchen china cups create wonderful Fall decor.

At other times, these objects evoke memories of cherished individuals who blessed me immeasurably.

My initial use of slip-covers was on those low-backed chairs, and they truly 'slip' as promised; I constantly adjust them, but I cherish those chairs from my grandparent’s farmhouse living room.

Styling Your Living Room End Table for Autumn
This autumn, I chose neutral decorative pieces featuring diverse textures.

Think shades of white, cream, and brown.
Incorporating elements that are both soft and smooth, as well as coarse and sturdy, with varying heights.
This creates a feeling of warmth and comfort, perfect for evenings near a crackling wood stove.

It is the ideal pairing for the seasonal narrative we are sharing!
