I have a unique connection with Loretta Lynn because we shared the same surname before I married.
People sometimes playfully thought she was my aunt, though that isn't true, and she isn't aware of me.
Recently, I discovered her peanut butter fudge recipe and felt compelled to test Aunt Loretta’s creation, especially since it was touted as the “best ever”!

Truly, it is absolutely wonderful!
A caution is necessary: the recipe instructs cooking until the “soft ball stage.” Without a candy thermometer, I struggled to achieve this perfectly, and a bit more cooking might yield a silkier consistency.
Nevertheless, given how quickly these fudge pieces are disappearing around the house, they clearly caused no major issues. I am currently resisting the urge to take one!
That is the reality of holiday confections.
My sole desire is to enjoy every single one.
Besides this fudge, I plan to keep my Christmas sweet baking minimal this year; however, I do want to share some beloved treats from previous Christmases:
Overnight Buns

Christmas Chocolates

Cut Out Sugar Cookies

Steam Pudding & Sauce (Christmas Dinner Dessert)
