31-Day Blogging Series: 31 Ways to Make Your Home Uniquely You
Happy October, everyone! Today marks the beginning of my 31 Day Blogging Series, a month-long project where I’m sharing “31 Ways to Make Home Uniquely You.” Over the next several weeks I’ll post practical ideas, budget-friendly decorating tips, and simple DIY projects to help you personalize your home and make each space reflect your style.
I published the first post in the series last night. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, I invite you to take a look—each post will include photos, step-by-step notes when relevant, and ideas that can be tailored to your budget and taste. This series is designed for anyone who loves home design, wants approachable inspiration, and appreciates low-cost transformations that make a big visual impact.
On another note, I’ve been notified that it’s time to select the Grand Prize winner for the One Project Closer Before & After contest, and the exciting part is that you get to choose the winner. One Project Closer ran a summer-long Before and After contest where a different blogger was chosen as a weekly winner. The contest’s purpose is to raise awareness for the work of Habitat for Humanity, highlighting projects that transform spaces and support community housing efforts.
Our Kitchen Makeover was selected as one of the weekly winners by the lovely Melanie of Bear Rabbit Bear—thank you, Melanie! I was also touched and surprised to read on Melanie’s blog that she’s expecting triplets. That news left me speechless and very happy for her.
If you’d like to help decide the Grand Prize winner, you can cast your vote on the One Project Closer voting page for your favorite Before & After makeover. I’d be honored if you considered voting for our $159 Kitchen Makeover, which demonstrates how thoughtful choices and small investments can produce a dramatic, fresh look. But of course, vote for the project that most inspires you—every vote helps promote creative home improvement and supports the contest’s charitable goals.
Your support—through reading, commenting, and sharing—means more to me than I can express. This blog has been a place to record projects, swap ideas, and connect with readers who love making their homes meaningful. The encouraging messages and friendships I’ve found here have been constant sources of inspiration and motivation.
Practical note: if you’d like to vote, the contest allows votes to be cast regularly. Some readers have mentioned being able to vote each day; if that option is available to you, feel free to return and vote again. Every vote counts toward raising awareness for Habitat for Humanity and celebrating creative home transformations.
Thank you for following along with this series and for your kindness in supporting the projects shared here. I’m looking forward to posting new ideas throughout the month—simple updates, DIY solutions, and budget-savvy makeovers that help you personalize your space. Have a wonderful day!
