This Crock Pot potato pizza casserole is a delicious, flavor-packed meal. Layers of browned ground beef, potatoes, and Italian-seasoned sauce ~ topped with melted cheese ~ make it a family favorite.

This potato pizza bake recipe comes from my old-fashioned, handwritten recipe file. It has been in there for over 25 years and has been pulled out so many times, it’s getting a little thin!

We first tried it at the home of one of my childhood friends, who made this meal for us soon after we were married. It’s a great recipe that adapts to the busyness of your schedule.

The traditional method is to bake it for an hour at 375 degrees.

Or, you can put it in the crock pot and let it make the house smell amazing all day long. It’s the only method I’ve ever used, and it’s wonderful.

(I cooked mine on high for 4 hours until it was all bubbly, and then switched it to low until dinnertime.)

5. Before serving, sprinkle on Parmesan cheese and lay slices of mozzarella on top. Put the lid back on until the cheese has melted.
