During the second week of our boys' school break for Spring Break, we opted for a local 'Staycation.' After a quiet first week at home, we spent recent days on Mount Washington. Despite its name, it is not in Washington State; rather, it sits on Vancouver Island, just a 1/2 hour drive from us, a spot we seldom visit despite its proximity.
The time was wonderfully restful. My husband and two boys enjoyed skiing one day, while the other son and I preferred to unwind with books, films, and snacks. Amidst this activity {ha!}, I also painted while looking out at the ski hill—I could certainly grow fond of that!

Today, we descended the mountain and returned home. The sight of the ocean alongside the mountain is always remarkable! Regrettably, being so immersed in vacation mode meant I didn't capture many photos, but here is one taken halfway down:

Although distinguishing between all the blue is tricky, that is the ocean visible beneath those soft, puffy clouds.
We have now unpacked our luggage and are readjusting to our usual schedule. The sunshine is out, and it's lovely to observe the new small blossoms emerging from the earth.

Indeed, it feels just like Spring...
