I’ve grappled with finding the right way to phrase this, but I genuinely feel that our homes require more than just attractive décor and useful fixes; they also need the ideal measure of cozy disarray.
{Did I just make you gasp?} Let me clarify.
A handful of occasions in my lifetime have placed me right in the heart of a “flawless” residence. Every inch of its immaculate white carpet was vacuumed to absolute perfection. The glass coffee table was gleaming and spotless. The accents were flawlessly matched and artfully arranged.
The issue was, I couldn’t unwind in such a setting. I was perpetually anxious that I might accidentally damage something!
I’m certain most of us would prefer a residence where guests feel at ease over one that looks like a magazine spread.
What kind of house is inhabitable if you can’t actually live in it? (And yes, absolutely put your feet up on the coffee table!)
To foster an atmosphere in our homes that encourages relaxation and innovation, we must allow it to become untidy occasionally.
“Disarray” is an everyday reality…and I believe that’s perfectly fine. It proves that genuine individuals inhabit your space!
The quantity of clutter you permit, and whether it totally consumes your routine, is a separate concern, though.
