Weekend Reads: Inspiring Ideas for You and Your Home

Happy weekend, friends!

I hope your week went well. Over here, it’s been a busy and fun few days—full of small projects, tasty experiments, and a little bit of springtime joy.

This week I turned a simple bowl into a stunning kitchen pendant light, adapted our favorite sloppy joe recipe into a lighter, healthier version, and attempted a very rich (and slightly chaotic) Chocolate Cream Pie. It was delicious—even if it wasn’t perfect.

Big personal win: I won the grand Mother’s Day prize at my church and came home with a monstera plant I’ve been admiring for ages. I’m thrilled and a little nervous—now I’m learning how to care for it so it thrives.

Spring is in full swing around many blogs and feeds (I know some of you still saw snow this week!), and I wanted to share some of the best ideas and discoveries I found online. Whether you’re into home projects, recipes, or simple lifestyle comforts, there’s a little something here for everyone.

One favorite online project I followed this week was The DIY Mommy’s lake house renovation—her recent modern coastal bedroom makeover is beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed watching the whole transformation over coffee one morning; it’s the kind of renovation that inspires easy, livable design choices.

  • I’ve wanted to try working with concrete, and this DIY citronella candle in a concrete container looks like a perfect starter project: concrete candle tutorial.

  • Finally, I’m bookmarking this year’s spring-to-summer nail trends—lovely shades and finishes for the season: spring to summer nail trends.
