Elevate your standard banana bread with this delightful peanut butter chocolate chip variation.
When bananas become overly ripe and spotted, my go-to is quickly utilizing them; instead of the usual Buttermilk Banana Bread Recipe, I opted for a new creation.
Since I adore peanut butter and chocolate chips, combining them results in a wonderfully moist peanut butter chocolate chip banana bread that is a household favorite!

Crafting Peanut Butter Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips
Here are the necessary components:
- 1 3/4 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 3 mashed bananas (yielding 1 cup)
- 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup of salted butter, melted and allowed to cool slightly
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
Instructions for mixing the peanut butter chocolate chip banana bread:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a loaf pan by spraying it with cooking oil or lining it with parchment paper. For the visual example, an 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch metal pan, lined with parchment paper, was utilized; adjust baking time if using a different or mini loaf pan.
A brief video is available showing the simple steps for preparing this straightforward banana bread recipe:
Step 2: In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside. Step 3: In a large sized mixing bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, combine the peanut butter and butter. Whisk or mix with a mixer until smooth and creamy. Add in the egg , sugar, and vanilla and mix to combine. Step 4: Mash the bananas in a measuring cup until it comes to the 1 cup measurement. Step 5: Add a scoop of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir to just combine, then add some of the bananas. Keep alternating and mixing until you end with the bananas. Mix just until combined. Then mix in the chocolate chips. I used both white and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Step 6: Spread banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-65 minutes.Check the banana bread at the 40 minute mark; if the top begins to darken too much, cover it with aluminum foil.
Continue baking until a toothpick or cake tester emerges clean.

Allow the bread to rest on a wire rack for 10 minutes before lifting it out; if you wish to adorn the top with chocolate chips, scatter some after removing it from the oven. I used semi-sweet and white chocolate chips, but only added white ones to the top post-baking.
Let it cool entirely, then slice and savor!
