A DIY laptop stand end table arose from a practical need.
After moving into our townhouse, we realized there was a spot needed for all the family's tech gear. I found myself walking gingerly in the living room to avoid crushing one of the boys’ laptops! Avoiding legos is one thing; preventing damage to something much more valuable when boys grow up is quite another!
We sought a solution that wouldn't consume much space but could easily support laptops and remain readily accessible.
Meet this end table:

We found it last Summer while tidying the garage. A friend gifted it to me, and it had seen several previous uses, much like here.
It seemed like it could be our ideal fix with only a few simple adjustments.
My husband measured and cut two pieces of scrap plywood, which served as extra shelving. He painted them Urbane Bronze, and after they dried, he secured them.

Truthfully, I disliked the original color in our living room, so I never mentioned it before. However, using it revealed it was actually a fantastic spot for storing laptops.
Since I'm focused on organization now, I felt this was the perfect moment to highlight it.
I was fortunate to find a discount on Benjamin Moore paint in the shade “Navel”, which is the color I utilized!

This is how it appears now:

I am delighted with it!
It sits perfectly beside the sofa, allowing laptops to remain connected to chairs or the couch.
The upper drawer is ideal for keeping all the cords, chargers, speakers, mouses, and other electronic items.
