Mid-Journey Update
Thanksgiving is celebrated in Canada today.
After a lovely three-day respite from the camp kitchen, I feel immensely thankful for time spent at home.
Ah, the feeling of home.
How much I have missed this place.
To be honest, my time here is limited; after a long day of cooking, I lack the energy for typical home activities.
The house retains its summer decorations; perhaps I am simply preparing for next year early?

In a few hours, I'm heading to the kitchen to resume cooking for a group of 85 arriving tomorrow. This is my largest group yet, so some preparation, starting with chili, is necessary. {Wish me success??}
However, before I depart, I've been considering what I am grateful for. Here is a brief list:
- Good Health: Knowing my physical strength is not my strong suit, simply being able to move through this cooking venture is truly amazing. I won't overlook this, feeling grateful that “when I am weak, He is strong.” I often say “every meal is a miracle,” and it is true, with Jesus alongside me in the kitchen.
- Joy: I have prayed daily for joy in this work, and I am delighted to report I am genuinely enjoying many aspects of it—another miracle!
- Support: I deeply appreciate everyone who assists in preparing meals, not just the extra hands, but also those who help with planning and making numerous decisions quickly!
That concludes my reflections for now; it is time to tidy my hair and put on my 'sensible' (and quite uncomfortable!) footwear to get to work.
I must admit that during time off, I write numerous blog entries; I posted 13 in one day previously, and another 6 two days ago. These posts document my recent kitchen adventures and recipes.
Tomorrow brings the Beef Stroganaff Saga!

{A Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers!}
