When I was a little girl, I loved the day the JCPenney Christmas catalog showed up in our rural farmhouse mailbox. I would grab it, sprint up the snowy driveway, and race to open the cover.

Wrapped in my cozy Snug Sack, I would sit for hours poring over the glossy pages. With a pen, I’d carefully circle everything I loved. That was my “wish list,” which my parents would look over later when they picked out gifts.
