I don't follow fashion magazines or runway presentations, but I rely on some wonderful fashion bloggers for insights. I've noticed three appealing style trends for this Autumn.
- The Shearling Vest
My blogger friend Cyndi recently shared her thoughts on the shearling coat and vest trend for this season, illustrating how she wore one:

This option appears both comfortable, attractive, and useful for a cool Autumn afternoon.
- Plaid

Plaid throws are ideal for chilly football games in the Fall. This year, however, plaid appears in accessories like bags and footwear, alongside the classic plaid shirt (my sons adore the plaid flannel jacket…)
- Boot cut jeans

While skinny jeans were dominant last year, the boot cut and flare styles are returning to popularity.
Financially, buying every new trend for Autumn isn't wise for me. Instead, I'm focused on creatively styling the clothing I already possess to give it a fresh appearance.
This is the look I created after seeing the shearling vest trend.

I acquired this Woolrich vest some time ago and it has lasted through several closet cleanouts. It remains a favorite, and its exceptionally soft lining echoes the faux shearling aesthetic…

I picked up these boot cut jeans quickly last Spring at Maurices (a similar style is linked here). Their 'short' length suits me perfectly; I'm delighted not needing to hem them! (Yay!)
