How to Keep Your Travel Blog Active While on Vacation

Taking a Short Vacation from the Blog

With so many important things to think about in life, I’ve been oddly focused on one small question: what should I do with the blog while we’re in Hawaii? It sounds silly, but blogs are a part of routine—an online home I enjoy tending—and leaving it quiet for a while feels strange.

We don’t have to worry about the dog while we’re away, so that part is easy. My suitcase, on the other hand, is another story. I’m already deep into packing and preparing for the trip, so arranging a lineup of guest posts didn’t happen early enough this time. Still, I wanted to make sure the site doesn’t sit completely empty while I’m away.

I’ve decided to take a deliberate break from regular posting and most social media while we’re soaking up the sun in Hawaii. That means a pause from long blog posts, from frequent Facebook updates, Instagram streams, and from constant tweeting. A short digital rest is the point of a holiday: to unplug, recharge, and enjoy the moment without always reporting it. I may share a photo or two, but for the most part I’m planning to be present on the trip rather than online.

That said, I don’t want to leave you without fresh content. So I’ve come up with a practical plan to keep the site lively and interesting while I’m gone: a series of curated posts focused on inspiration, ideas, and introductions to bloggers and creative projects I admire.

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll prepare themed round-ups that combine beautiful images, helpful ideas, and short features on a few creative bloggers who inspire me. These posts will be concise, visually driven, and full of actionable tips or decorating, travel, and lifestyle inspiration. Think inspiration galleries, quick how-to ideas, and snapshots of beautiful things that spark creativity. My goal is to keep the content useful and uplifting—perfect for a relaxed reading moment with your morning coffee.

If everything goes to plan, these curated posts will be scheduled to publish on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next two weeks. I can’t promise I’ll be actively sharing each post across social networks while I’m away, so the best way to catch them is to visit the site directly on those days. Bookmark the blog or subscribe if you want to be notified when new round-ups go live.

Each curated post will include inspiration photos, short descriptions of why the ideas appeal to me, and brief introductions to the bloggers and creatives who contributed the photos or ideas. I’ll be careful to credit original sources and to present each feature clearly so it’s easy to explore further when you want to learn more. These round-ups are meant to be both a portable source of inspiration and an invitation to discover new creative voices.

I love this community and I appreciate your support. Even when I’m taking a break, I want to leave something thoughtful behind for readers who stop by. Expect visually rich posts that are easy to browse, with practical takeaways and a few surprises along the way. If you enjoy curated collections, inspiration galleries, and introductions to talented bloggers, these upcoming posts should be right up your alley.

When we return home, I’ll be ready to share everything about our trip to Maui—the places we loved, the small discoveries, and the moments that made the holiday special. For now, I’m looking forward to a slower pace, a little digital distance, and time to refill my creative well.

Thank you for reading and for being part of this little corner of the internet. I’ll see you soon with fresh posts, new inspiration, and plenty of photos to share.
