Whenever I mention on social media that I went through a season of panic, I receive a surprising number of messages. Many people struggle quietly, believing they are alone. What I talk about in this episode
In Episode 8 I cover the lead-up to my panic season, the first signs I noticed, and how panic affected my routines, sleep, and relationships. I walk through both the immediate steps I used during moments of panic and the longer-term changes that helped reduce frequency and intensity over time.
Practical coping strategies discussed
While everyone’s experience is unique, I share several approaches that were helpful to me. These include:
- Breathing and grounding techniques to reduce immediate symptoms and restore a sense of control.
- Establishing a predictable routine, including sleep and gentle movement, to support emotional stability.
- Limiting stimulants (like caffeine) and paying attention to physical triggers that can worsen anxiety.
- Journaling and tracking patterns to identify what precedes episodes and what provides relief.
- Seeking compassionate professional support—talk therapy, medical advice, or both—when needed.
- Building a small support network of friends or family who understand and can offer practical help during hard moments.
These methods are shared as options I tried and found useful; they are not a substitute for individualized medical advice. If panic attacks are frequent or severe, please consult a qualified health professional.
