Introduction to this podcast episode:
I credit my lifelong affection for old, imperfect homes to the big white farmhouse in Montana where I grew up. That house is more than a building to me — it’s a place full of stories, quirks, and the kinds of odd details that make old houses unforgettable.
In this episode I share a handful of those childhood memories, including a hilariously awkward bathroom setup and the small, stubborn ways that old houses teach you to be resourceful and imaginative. Those early experiences shaped how I view renovation, design, and what it means to make a home.
