Before I reveal our next big project, I thought I'd start with the inspiration that sparked it.
For a while now I've noticed sliding barn doors showing up all over interior design. I'm not one to follow a trend just because it's trendy, but I liked them from the start. The two most recent examples I came across finally pushed us to build one ourselves. I think it looks really great (I'll show you tomorrow!), and it also solves a few problems we had.

The Handmade Home's gorgeous, photo-filled tutorial on “How to Build a Barn Door” finally showed us how to make one, since a vintage door in the huge size we needed was nowhere to be found…
The Lettered Cottage post also showed me that $400 hardware isn't the only beautiful option…
