Affordable Beach Cottage Bedroom Inspiration
Before detailing our current master bedroom appearance, I thought it useful to show how this converted attic space originally looked.
This is how it appeared shortly after we moved in. {View more images here}:

Lightly painted wooden plank walls can help establish a comfortable cottage style bedroom.
More than a year ago, this dark and somber room was painted using Benjamin Moore’s White Down. I admired its brightness, but the space still felt incomplete.

By using ingenuity and materials we possessed, we transformed it into this bright and cheerful Beach Cottage Bedroom:

A blend of muted tones with floral motifs and watery blues fosters a serene environment.

We adore it!
Layering bedding with diverse patterns, prints, and textures achieves the desired beach cottage bedroom aesthetic.
My objective was to utilize what I already owned. I searched my home, repurposing, rearranging, and rethinking existing items. The primary alteration involved the white bedspread, which is actually the reverse side of a hand-stitched quilt, looking lovely despite its intended orientation.

Spare bed pillows occupying valuable storage areas were repurposed into throw pillow forms. Fabric remnants from my stash created a new collection of accent pillows adding vibrant color. For specifics on each DIY home decor throw pillow, consult these links:

Beach cottage bedrooms beautifully combine floral patterns and prints in artwork and decorative pieces.

Combine furniture and decor items possessing history and charm for a curated, time-worn cottagecore bedroom feel.
The chippy white chair was relocated to serve as a more stylish bedside table. {And I successfully repaired my white lampshade!}

Rustic touches paired with serene imagery and fresh blooms combine to yield a truly relaxing and peaceful space.
The shelves display white dishware, clear glass, seashells, {various stored items}, and fresh yard flowers.

This beach house bedroom refresh required minimal financial investment!
My objectives for this transformation were three:
- achieving a refreshed, modern appearance
- completing it swiftly {I hoped for a single day, though it took a bit longer!}
- keeping costs low or nonexistent {I spent $6.00 on 6 picture frames for the ferns because I couldn't repurpose existing items.}

Thank you for visiting for this brief tour; I rarely show our bedroom to guests {It might not always look this way??!}
