While exploring the blogosphere recently, I stumbled upon One Project Closer’s Before & After Contest. It caught my eye as it supports Habitat for Humanity. Anyone who has followed my writing knows that Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore is a top destination for me. It is essentially a thrift haven for home decor and furnishings, which is exactly where I sourced many pieces for our kitchen renovation – including this lighting fixture:
The transformation looked like this:

I volunteered to submit our Kitchen Makeover on a spontaneous impulse.
I subsequently set the idea aside and lost track of it.
Not long after, an email arrived informing me that Melanie from Bear Rabbit Bear had selected my kitchen as the weekly victor! It was a wonderful shock. As the chosen recipient, I was gifted a $50 card (I selected Home Depot as my preferred retailer), and $100 was contributed to Habitat for Humanity in my name. I find that gesture quite commendable.
Here is the important part. The competition is still active! It concludes in just a few days, so visit One Project Closer immediately to submit your finest makeover project for an opportunity to win a grand prize: a $150 gift card to Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Amazon.
