Why You’re Going to LOVE These Date Balls!

They are sweet without sugar! I was born with a strong sweet tooth. Desserts are my favorite food group, for sure. But, lately, I’ve realized a direct correlation to eating sugar and my health. So, I’m doing my best to cut back on sugar and find healthy alternatives.

You won’t belive how yummy they are. These date balls are incredibly delicious and are so sweet and tasty I feel like I’m eating a decadent treat. However, the sweet flavor comes naturally from the dates. (Who would have thought they could be so tasty?)

Date balls are quick to make. You can whip these up in just a few minutes and stick them in your fridge for a quick snack when you need to grab one. No baking necessary…

Ingredients for almond butter & oats date balls

Ingredients for Healthy Date Balls

  • 3/4 cup pitted dates, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup (less 1 tablespoon) natural, smooth almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Step by Step Instructions for No Bake Date Balls

  1. Soak the cut up dates in a bowl of hot water for 5-10 minutes, then drain off the water.
  2. If you have a normal sized food processer, put all the ingredients into the food processor and whir it together until it combines together and all the ingredients are processed into a smooth dough. Or, if you have a mini food processor (like I do) stir the ingredients together in a bowl first and then process in the mini food processor in two batches.

How to store date balls

I store these date balls in a lidded container in the fridge. They will last up to 14 days in the fridge, but honestly, they are gone must faster than 14 days in our house!;)
