Attaching a picture to drywall with just 2 hooks is simple; use painters tape to pinpoint nail locations directly from the back of the frame. Achieve perfect alignment without stress in just a few minutes!
I cannot believe how often I found a wonderful piece of art, turned it over, and sighed seeing TWO sawtooth hangers on the reverse side.
All the measuring, all the doubt, and inevitably one nail would land slightly askew. Frustrating!

My dear friend, I discovered a simple method—it only requires a bit of painters tape. No measuring, no calculations, no crooked displays, ever again!
Let me demonstrate this for you.
Simple Guide to Hanging Art on Drywall with Two Hangers

Materials Required:

- Painters Tape (This is similar to what I utilize.)
- 2 nails (These 1 inch white panel nails are my top choice for displaying nearly all artwork in our residence.)
- Level
- Hammer
- Pencil
Step 1: Place a strip of painters tape across the top of the frame, covering the sawtooth hangers.
Ensure it runs straight along the upper border of the artwork.
Step 2: With a nail, create a small puncture where the nails should sit on the hangers.
I target the precise middle of each saw-tooth hanger. (Refer to the image above for the holes made in the painters tape.)
Step 3: Determine the artwork's center and the tape's center, then mark this spot with a pencil.
Hold the picture against the wall at your desired height, lightly marking this central point on the wall with your pencil.

Step 4: Carefully lift the painters tape from the back of the picture and align its center with the mark on the wall.
Employ a level to confirm the painters tape is perfectly straight and horizontal.

Step 5: Drive a 1 inch panel nail into each hole you made in the painters tape.
**Crucial Advice: If the item you are hanging is weighty, you must employ a more robust attachment than these 1 inch nails. For substantial items on drywall, I suggest using a drywall anchor and screw kit.**

Step 6: Remove the tape from the wall and display your picture!

This technique for displaying sizable artwork using just two rear hangers is surprisingly simple and swift!

How to Hang a Picture with 2 Sawtooth Hangers
Achieve ideal placement for your displayed art using this straightforward technique for mounting pictures on drywall, even when the back features 2 sawtooth hangers!
Supplies
Steps
- I align each saw-tooth hanger perfectly at its midpoint. (You can spot the marks I made on the painters tape in the image above.)
- Position the artwork at your preferred height on the wall, then lightly trace the center spot with your pencil.
- Check that the painters tape remains straight and level using a spirit level.
- **Important: For heavier pictures or objects, a more robust hanging system than these 1-inch nails is required. For substantial items in drywall, I suggest opting for a drywall anchor and screw setup.
