Pottery Barn inspired me to incorporate typography into my home styling.
A visitor once inquired about the '1, 2, 3' display in my entry area.
I simply told them they looked appealing.
They probably thought I was eccentric, but that's quite common!
I decided to add a Monogram sign featuring the initial of our family name to the entryway gallery wall, which is 'h'.

This utilized the same painting approach mentioned previously; I applied some panther paint over the blue to achieve an aged effect. I used a computer to print a large 'h' in Book Antique font and transferred it onto the surface using graphite paper.
After filling the letter with panther paint, I allowed it to partially dry, then gently wiped some paint from the middle using a paper towel. (See the 'how to' article for comprehensive steps.)
This identical method was employed when I painted the 'laugh' sign.

I discovered this lettering technique is much faster and more adaptable than my older methods; slight imperfections contribute to the charm, so perfection isn't necessary.
