I now appreciate the charm of artificial holiday trees.
Last year resulted in a nighttime collapse, causing a minor flood.
Yesterday, I was dismayed to see our plastic tree stand leaking slowly. Four liters of water seeped into our laminate flooring once more.
I doubt our floor can endure another real Christmas tree.
Despite problematic stands and toppling trees, I still cherish our small real Christmas tree in the living room corner.

This year, my goal was a white, rustic, and natural tree, evoking an old-fashioned, homespun vibe similar to the Little House on the Prairie.
I crafted a ruffled garland, book page stars, and a burlap and flour sack star topper, complemented by fabric bird ornaments and silver balls.

While shopping with a friend, I found wooden pears on sale at Fall decor; tying string to their stems made them charming additions.
I also spotted a lovely jute flower ornament. {I wonder about its creation??}

Despite liking festive holiday homes, I prefer simplicity in ours. Excessive garlands and doorway lights feel suffocating, and keeping the house open for Christmas guests is important, so this year's decor is complete.
