We aim to capture a new family portrait annually, often starting the tradition near October for Christmas cards.
For the first time, our oldest son relocated to Alberta in July, preventing his presence at the initial photo session, so the Christmas picture initially omitted him.
I felt a considerable sense of melancholy about this omission.
However, since he returned for an extra week of the holidays, I organized another family photo outside yesterday afternoon.
This second attempt included everyone!
