I have held a private piece of news I was eager to share, but waited to ensure everything was secure.
My spouse and I shared a running joke since I began this Bildirimlerim blog:
He would inquire, “How is the blog progressing?” My response was always, “Well, Better Homes and Gardens has not contacted me yet…”
We would share a laugh and move on.
Therefore, you can picture my surprise when in December they reached out!
To be precise, it was an email, not a phone call.
This news generated significant excitement at our home.
Initially, I suspected it was junk mail.
Upon confirming it was legitimate, I immediately called my sisters and expressed my delight loudly…
Following that, I became very busy.
Let me tell you, receiving contact from Better Homes and Gardens is incredibly encouraging.
They discovered my blog during the 31 Days of Craft Fair preparations series and were interested in the burlap Christmas stockings:
They requested some ~ along with the instructions ~ promptly for a photo shoot in this year’s forthcoming Holiday Crafts magazine. {Isn’t this amazing??} I acted swiftly and dispatched them as fast as possible.
Since then, we have maintained correspondence, and all the required paperwork and contracts are finalized. The last document arrived while I was in Nebraska! {Yes!}
Thus, it seems everything is proceeding. Naturally, I understand that nothing is guaranteed, and only time will confirm if the stockings appear in the magazine.
However, even without publication, being asked feels like a wonderful privilege…
…and recognizing the vastness of this DIY/Craft blogging community feels quite extraordinary.
