Visiting Friends' Warm Homes

Greetings this Sunday!

To vary our 31 Day series, I decided to feature some close friends on Sundays. These individuals beautifully showcase homes that reflect their distinct personalities. {Being unique is wonderful; it's not unusual, it's what makes life engaging!}

Today, we are spotlighting Coleen.

coleen

{Details about her Mamma’s Buttons have been shared previously.}

Coleen evokes feelings of warm embraces, a cheerful Missouri accent, coffee conversations, and generosity. Visiting her home is always a joy! She welcomes guests with affection and laughter, always presenting lovely snacks and drinks from charming small bowls, platters, and cups.

Recently, she opened her front door, allowing me (and you!) a glimpse into her residence.

Please come take a look!!

Coleen shares my sentimental spirit. She connects deeply with the past and cherishes items symbolizing 'days gone by'.

antique kitchen gadgets

Many of her charming collections relate to her life and family in Missouri. She thoughtfully places these cherished items where she sees them often, evoking sweet memories of her childhood and 'Momma and Daddy' (as she calls them), who now rest in Heaven.

laundry room

Earlier this year, I assisted her in preparing her home for a wedding and family visitors. Tidying up this laundry room was a pleasant activity. While arranging displays, I enjoyed hearing the stories behind the objects.

momma's hankies

This shelf preserves memories of “Momma,” including her hankie collection and wallpaper brush.

Coleen finds pleasure in every small detail.

teeny tiny details

Her meticulous attention to detail and how she values tiny 'baby-sized' items that bring smiles and chuckles are remarkable. This small cat and mouse (or perhaps a pig?) scene sits on the lower shelf of this antique wood stove…

Those familiar with her know her deep appreciation for antique items and quaint assortments. Incidentally, many unique pieces find their way to her. One collection she acquired included boxes filled with antique wooden containers.

cigar boxes

We found that grouping them into a single display around the tv made them cohesive rather than a scattered collection.

Coleen’s kitchen chalkboard displays the message: “There is always, always, ALWAYS something to be thankful for.”

I am grateful for you, Coleen.

Thank you for sharing your welcoming home and generous spirit to bless so many people.
