Organized Craft Space and Home Office

Organized Craft Space and Home Office

After moving into our townhouse, I was left with just a few final containers of belongings.

These containers held my crafting materials.

Every available spot was already utilized, so fitting them into a hall closet was a considerable achievement.

Even though they fit, the arrangement looked untidy and lacked functionality.

A piece of counsel I received when setting up a new residence is that adjustment requires patience.

Patience is needed to determine the most effective placement for items.

Time is necessary to test different layouts and discover how to thrive in a new area.

Patience is required to recognize what you genuinely need versus what you should discard.

Patience allows for fine-tuning concepts... and then refining them further!

Therefore, earlier this year, I determined the craft closet was not suitable for my needs. It was time to explore a completely new Craft Room & Office setup.

Since my son was away for work for 6 months, I chose to test the space in his room.

The sole photograph showing the initial state is this:

This was a modest, small room painted the same builder beige as the rest of the house. My first action was clearing it and painting it a blend of Misted Green and Grey Cashmere (leftovers from our previous Living Room and Office).

I then positioned my tabletop desk in the corner beneath the window.

This location proved ideal for sitting down to write blog posts.

Opposite the desk, I arranged several shelving units brought from the garage, centered around my newly painted dresser.

These shelves enabled me to display supplies and keep related items grouped together.

Locating items became simple, and it was a pleasantly bright environment for working.

I absolutely adored it!

However, here is the news?

My son is back home, meaning I needed to convert it back into his bedroom...

I am very satisfied with the final arrangement, and I have temporarily moved my small office table into my other son’s room for the summer because he is at camp.

It's a relief that the young men are agreeable to sharing their rooms during their trips
