Creative Design Inspiration for Your Home

A cheerful Tuesday greeting from Bildirimlerim; consider this inspiring thought from the East Coast Creative design contest, specifically within the “Knock Off” category.

I entered the contest hoping to be a participant, but I am relieved that outcome did not occur.

In a series of small choices, I resolved to act like Superwoman, aiming to complete one hundred million projects before our Maui trip.

My physical condition is not cooperating.

Rather than powerhouse tasks, I have freed up my week to enjoy the couch with books, choosing to rest and see a doctor regarding these health concerns.

This period of 'unplanned rest' offers a valuable opportunity for deep thought.

Today, I wish to share a thought I have held for a while; a caution: if you dislike anything remotely 'religious,' perhaps you should stop reading now.

***

From infancy until now, nearly every Sunday has involved attending church with my Momma, with only a few minor exceptions.

church

This realization came to me weeks ago while sitting in my preferred pew during the sermon.

Across 45 years of Sunday church attendance and 4 years of Bible college, I have heard many preachers, ranging from simple country voices to globally recognized figures, some hilarious, some captivating, some exceedingly dull, and some who guided me toward genuine peace, joy, and forgiveness.

My favorite speakers utilize narratives; that is how I learn, and the preacher began explaining the concept of “parables” and Jesus' teaching through stories.

My thoughts drifted momentarily... which happens sometimes.

hymn books

The old Fanny Crosby hymn surfaced in my mind,

“This is my story, this is my song: Praising my Saviour all the day long…”

I pondered, “is that truly my narrative?”

How much I wish it were.

My desire is for a life filled with gratitude, joy, and reflecting Jesus’ light.

Many individuals I encounter have never visited a church.

I could potentially be the sole 'preacher' they ever encounter.

What narrative does my life convey?

In the 80s, before some of you were born, the Imperials performed a song with these lyrics:

“You’re the only Jesus some will ever see”

For some, your words represent the sole essence of life.

Allow them to recognize in you the singular being they truly require.

Because you represent the sole Jesus some individuals will ever encounter.

This topic has occupied much of my recent thoughts.

Perhaps it's just me, but I often place excessive hopes on individuals designated as a “Pastor.” There is a deep desire within me to observe someone with a relatable appearance demonstrating how life ought to be lived.

However, it is not a complex idea to understand that genuine flawlessness is not attainable on Earth, short of Heaven itself…

I imagine every preacher globally would welcome it if more of us who attend services weekly~

offered some small {good} form of personal 'preaching'…
