A cheerful yellow and blue tablescape makes a wonderful way to welcome the sunny days of Spring; discover a simple DIY farmhouse centerpiece for this look and see 26 other vibrant Spring tablescape inspirations.

I truly adore the sight of a vast blue sky under bright sunshine.

After a damp, gray West Coast Winter, seeing the sun emerge more frequently brings me such joy!

Perhaps this is why yellow and blue have always been my favored color pairing?

This Spring tablescape concept drew its inspiration from that favorite pairing, making it ideal for Easter, Mother’s Day, or any other Spring event.

Creating a simple 5 minute Spring centerpiece

I usually begin planning a tablescape by deciding on the centerpiece; this particular one is incredibly fast and effortless.

The items you will require are listed below:

The supplies for this quick and simple DIY farmhouse centerpiece are an assortment of faux greenery and yellow flowers, along with a galvanized metal flower box.

The materials for this DIY centerpiece might already be waiting in your home decor collection!

  • A galvanized metal flower box (mine was sourced from a thrift store, but a similar option is provided)
  • 2 bundles of artificial wispy greenery (similar examples are linked here)
  • 2 containers of artificial greenery (I purchased mine at Ikea, but comparable items are shown)
  • 1 bundle of artificial yellow forsythia (a comparable alternative is available here)
  • 1 small cluster of artificial yellow flowers (These look delightful!)
  • 1 small cluster of artificial lime green flowers (These would look stunning!)
  • 2 shallow serving bowls

**Note: While I have linked online purchases for all supplies, I personally acquired mine at a thrift store, Ikea, and Micheals Craft stores; if these locations suit you, the cost of this centerpiece can be quite low!**

Instructions for assembling the Spring centerpiece

Start filling the centerpiece flower boxes by putting the wispy faux greenery on each end.

Do not complicate the floral arrangement within this centerpiece flower box; simply place them inside!

Begin by positioning the 2 greenery bushes on opposite ends of the galvanized metal flower box.

Invert the 2 bowls within the flower box to elevate the potted plants.

Rest the 2 pots of artificial greenery onto the bowls.

Place yellow flowers interspersed throughout the faux greenery.

You can personalize this simple flower box arrangement with any color palette.

Separate the artificial foliage so each bloom rests on its own stem; then, distribute the flowers within the greenery.

My technique for placing flowers involves alternating sides, like placing one on the left and then one on the right.

Styling a Spring Dining Setting: Focus on Layering!

Since yellow inspired this setting, I began with a yellow striped farmhouse tablecloth.

Layer the table with a yellow striped tablecloth, plaid dishtowels under the placesetting, and stacked plates on a woven charger.

Achieve a relaxed farmhouse look by combining diverse linen colors and textures.

When trying different combinations, I discovered that incorporating a contrasting dark gray added more visual appeal and made the bright yellow and Spring green stand out.

Under every place setting, dark gray striped and checked tea towels were placed, with a gray checked runner running down the middle.

Elevate your place settings

Receiving a dinner invitation where such attention to place setting detail is evident truly makes me feel valued!

I aimed to replicate this Spring tablescape place setting for events such as Easter, Mother’s Day, or a Spring birthday.

A handwritten place card with the name "Joel" tucked into a faux grass mini potted plant on top of a plate.

A handwritten place card offers a lovely personal touch for your guests.

Topping the layered placemat and woven charger, the final touch is a small pot of faux grass holding a place card. Finding inexpensive mini faux grass pots online was tricky; check local Dollar Stores or craft shops for better prices…

The lovely blue linen napkins and blue egg decor stems were sourced from a thrift store, as shown in my 5$ Goodwill Tablescape post.

I made a printable place card sheet available in my VIP printables library for readers to use in their Spring tablescapes.
