Seeking an affordable DIY artwork concept for a plain wall? This project is the fastest and most straightforward DIY wall art you can create using book pages!

The simplicity of this endeavor is truly remarkable!
While completing the kitchen “office” area for our budget friendly kitchen makeover, there was a wall section needing some visual interest.
Leveraging materials already on hand inspired this particular idea…
Book Page Wall Art
Although it is a simple art idea, its effectiveness is quite high!
Materials required:
- Picture frames in your desired wall display size
- Books containing photographs you admire
- Canvas or linen material (or any fabric matching your picture)
- Scissors
- Xacto Knife
Instructions for Book Page Wall Art with Fabric Mat
1. Trim the fabric to match the frame's matting size
I utilized a canvas drop cloth as the 'mat' for my photo; this fabric is economical and resembles linen after washing.
2. Select a photograph from a book or magazine for framing
My grandma gifted me a wonderful coffee table book featuring Norman Rockwell photos; I cherish it but rarely display it.
Selecting a few images for framing felt like a smart way to utilize the book better.
I carefully extracted 2 Norman Rockwell pictures I felt suited the area using only a ruler and x-acto knife; it was not intimidating at all!
3. Assemble the picture and fabric onto the picture frame glass.
I placed the picture face down on the glass center, followed by the cloth, the original frame mat, and finally the frame backing.
4. Fasten the frame backing and hang it on the wall!
In a flash!…Fast (and inexpensive!) art…
