Considering old scrapbooking materials? Try making paper-wrapped books—a quick Spring decoration DIY taking under 10 minutes!
While organizing my Craft Room & Office, I found my collection of scrapbook papers and inks after downsizing our home</a; this requires a strict 'use it or lose it' mindset.
Rather than discarding my lovely papers and crafty stamps, I sought new applications, and today's project was my first—it finished in under 10 minutes!

Paper Wrapped Books: A Simple Spring Decor DIY
Materials needed for paper covered books:
- You can use colored or printed scrapbook paper, wrapping paper, or brown craft paper.
- Any book will serve for this project!
I utilized lightweight scrapbooking paper, leftover from my past scrap-booking endeavors; if you missed that trend, great selections are available at craft stores or the dollar store.

Instructions for covering books with paper
Trim the paper to match the book size, adding 1 inch to each edge for folding over the cover.
Although a Google search revealed complex methods, I opted for the most straightforward approach, quickly sizing the paper to the book dimensions with extra length for folding.
Personalize the spine with a phrase using rubber stamps and ink (optional)

This step is optional but enjoyable; you'll need rubber stamps and inks. Decide on a phrase and stamp it onto cardstock using letter stamps.

Attach Ribbon and Embellishments

The third step involves tying on ribbon and adorning with accents.
I decided to tie on a small antique watch, fitting for the approaching time change—Spring is here! (Check out my technique??)
Other Creative Possibilities

Beyond stacking books for decoration, this craft works well on a single book as a thoughtful gift, allowing for a personalized note and a special tie on top.
Mixing paper patterns lets you achieve any desired color palette; brown craft paper offers a wonderful rustic farmhouse look, or colored books can brighten a neutral arrangement.
