This creamy Swiss chicken casserole needs only a handful of ingredients: chicken breasts, Swiss cheese slices, cream of chicken soup, milk, and a box of stuffing mix. (A printable recipe card with exact measurements is at the bottom of this post, so you can print it and tuck it into your recipe binder!)
Step by Step Instructions for Chicken Swiss Casserole with Stuffing Topping
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, then pick a pan size that suits you. I split this recipe between two small glass dishes for two easy meals for two, but one larger dish works just as well for a family of four.
- While the oven heats, make the stuffing as the box directs and set it aside. Stir together the cream of chicken soup and milk; it’s fine if it isn’t perfectly smooth. Lay the chicken breasts in the bottom of the dish, sprinkle with pepper, and top each with a torn slice of Swiss cheese. Pour the soup mixture over the top, then crumble the cooked stuffing evenly over everything with your hands.
- Bake uncovered for 50 minutes, until it’s bubbling at the edges and the chicken is cooked through. You’ll get a creamy, cheesy casserole topped with the most flavorful crunchy crust!

Swiss Chicken Casserole with Stuffing Topping
This Swiss Chicken Casserole combines chicken, Swiss cheese, and savory stuffing into a dish that’s both hearty and elegant. It’s easy enough for a cozy family dinner and make-ahead enough to freeze and share with friends.
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and get out your baking dish or dishes. Choose a size based on how many people you’re feeding. This recipe makes 4 servings, so I divided it between two small 6 cup glass containers with lids to make two meals for two. You can also make the whole recipe in one larger baking dish to serve four.
- Make the stuffing mix according to the box directions and set it aside. In a bowl, stir together the cream of chicken soup and milk and set that aside too.
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the baking dish (or dishes) and sprinkle with pepper. Lay a slice of cheese on each one. Spoon the soup mixture over top, then add the cooked stuffing.
- Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until it’s bubbling at the edges and the chicken is cooked through.
