Creative Ways to Refresh Your Dining Area This Season With Your Current Items

Discover cheerful Spring dining room decorating inspiration using existing items

After residing in a home for more than 33 years, I have developed a seasonal rhythm for decorating.

When Winter's gloom yields to Spring's sunshine, I typically perform Spring cleaning alongside some decorating.

Since I don't wish to buy new decor every year, I simply rearrange what I possess to give the area a completely fresh appearance. Check out these helpful suggestions!

Spring Dining Room Decor Ideas with What You Already Own

1. Select a highlight color and incorporate it across the styling of farmhouse shelves.

Yellow has always appealed to me, so I've gathered several yellow decor pieces over time. A DIY yellow painted wood sign I crafted previously, some yellow artificial blossoms, and a painting featuring a yellow row boat add bright touches.

Employing this method for styling open shelves, I patterned the color on our DIY fixer upper style farmhouse shelves in a 'zig-zag' fashion.

2. Create a simple Spring centerpiece for your dining table

Even if a formal Spring tablescape isn't daily practice, having some color or visual appeal on the table is always welcome.

This 5 minute centerpiece is incredibly simple, and you might already have the required items in your closet!

3. Display some new (free printable) artwork

The VIP printables library offers numerous free Spring printable art pieces. (If you are not a member but wish to join, click here.)

However, for the first time, I designed a large free printable suitable for an engineer print, offering an affordable art choice. It was thoughtfully designed (strategically!) to fit within the DIY picture frames we made recently.

4. Combine artificial and genuine plants

I scattered plenty of greenery—both real and faux—throughout the area, which imparts significant life and brightness.
